1. HOTEL & HOLIDAY VILLAGE TECHNICIANS
These posts are for Thomson GOLD and First Choice HOLIDAY VILLAGE hotels. Thomson Holidays and First Choice merged in 2008 and are now both part of TUI Group
1.1 Job: Sound and light presentation of all entertainment at the hotel, as well as the care and day-to-day maintenance of the entertainment equipment. You’ll assist with the day-to-day technical operation of the day-time GOLD or Holiday Village entertainment programme and may also be required to train-up other entertainment staff in equipment use (how to operate a sound mixer, programme/run a lighting control-desk etc).
1.2 TRAINING COURSE - candidates who successfully pass through our interview stage will be required to attend the TUI Training course, running for approximately ten days in March 2010 at Pontin’s Brean Sands, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset. Final appointment to Resort is dependent upon successful completion of this course.
1.3 CONTRACT PERIOD - You will fly to resort on-or-around around the 15th April. Contract finishes on 31st October

Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, Lanzarote, Madeira, Menorca, Portugal, Rhodes, Spain, Tenerife or Turkey
1.5 SUPPORT: At the beginning of the season (mid April) you’ll fly to resort with the rest of that hotel's Thomson / First-Choice entertainment team. A TED AV Maintenance Engineer will fly to your resort at regular intervals and spend 24 hours at your hotel to clean, check and repair the kit. You’ll be expected to forewarn them of any problems and to assist during their visit.
1.6 WORKING WEEK: six evenings per week, plus some day-work.
1.7 WAGES: UK minimum wage for a 40 hour week (six days on, one day off per week). Paid PAYE only into your UK bank account every month. Income tax and NI are deducted at source. If you complete an entire season, you’ll enjoy a Contract-Completion Bonus of £300. Statutory Holiday Pay is paid to you when you leave.

2. RESORT TECHNICIANS
This job requires a FULL Driving Licence. Candidates MUST be minimum of 21 years old (hire car regulations) and have held FULL licence for minimum 3 years
2.1 The JOB
EVENING: As a TED AV Resort Technician, you’ll be responsible for sound and light presentation of a touring Production Show, performing at various Thomson Holidays GOLD hotels in your resort with four or five singer/dancers singing live on radio mics. Each hotel has its own entertainment system – so the only kit you’ll be touring will be a set of radio microphones, stands and a Mini-Disc machine, plus some basic scenic props. The Production Team usually travels by Mini-Bus, which you will have to drive from time-to-time.
DAYTIME: Sometimes, you’ll be asked to provide hands-on technical training to Thomson entertainers on how to operate a sound mixer, programme/run a lighting control-desk etc. You may also be called-upon to provide “fire-fighting” skills – for instance to fix minor technical equipment faults.
2.2 TRAINING COURSE - candidates who successfully pass through our interview stage will be asked to attend the Thomson Training course, running for approximately ten days in March 2010 at Pontin’s Brean Sands, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset. Final appointment to Resort is dependent upon successful completion of this course. Whilst no payment is made for your time at the course, all travel costs will be reimbursed and full-board accommodation is provided free of charge.
2.3 CONTRACT PERIOD - You will fly to resort around the 15th April. Contract finishes on 31st October (Cyprus) or around 12th November (Ibiza & Mallorca).
2.4 WHERE: Ibiza, Mallorca or Cyprus
2.5 SUPPORT: At the beginning of the season (mid April) you’ll work with two TED AV Maintenance Engineers to visit each hotel, set-up all of the entertainment equipment and conduct complete mains-Earth, RCD and MCB safety tests. During this very busy period, you’ll also be rehearsing with your production team. Thereafter, every month, a TED AV Maintenance Engineer will fly to your resort and spend 24 hours at each hotel to clean, check and repair the kit. You’ll be expected to forewarn them of any problems and to assist during their visit.
2.6 WORKING WEEK: Six evenings, plus some day-work.
2.7 WAGES: minimum £315 per week (under review). Paid PAYE only into your UK bank account every month. Income tax and NI are deducted at source. If you successfully complete an entire season, you’ll enjoy a Contract-Completion Bonus of £600. Statutory Holiday Pay is paid to you when you leave.
2.8 BENEFITS:
2.81 CAR: You will be issued with a hire car for the duration of your contract. You only pay for personal fuel. Any business fuel costs are reclaimed from your local Thomson Entertainments Adviser.
2.82 MOBILE 'PHONE ALLOWANCE: A business-calls allowance is payable each month.

2.9 CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: Live PA Sound operation is the most important skill we seek and we’re looking for candidates who have been professionally trained at recognised drama schools and/or schools of audio engineering. We seek relevant HND or degree-level qualifications in technical theatre/live sound etc. You must also have good practical stage-lighting skills.

3. SENSATORI TECHNICIANS
Sensatori is Thomson Holiday’s premium holiday hotel brand and offers a wide range of high-level entertainment. There are three main entertainment venues at this resort, plus a variety of ad-hoc venues too (restaurants, al-fresco spots etc). The entertainment programme is very demanding and the technicians who work here need to be highly dedicated.
3.1 The JOB
Up to seven posts on offer:
3.1 A) Sensatori Technical Manager A senior position suiting former cruise-ship production managers, theatre technical managers etc. This is a skilled position involving the technical presentation of high-profile shows, including West-End musical lead singers and visiting cabarets etc. You will be responsible for managing the technical team and for the overall technical presentation of all Sensatori entertainment. This is a hands-on job and you will be expected to personally run the more technically-demanding shows. Excellent live PA skills, coupled with excellent lighting programming & operational skills are essential. You will also mentor the other members of your team and help them to improve their technical skills and undertake equipment maintenance within your personal capabilities.
3.1 B) Sensatori Technician Your job is the technical presentation of any of the shows and set-up / strike duties allocated to you by the Production Manager. You will also mentor the Assistant Technician and help to improve his/her technical skills and undertake equipment maintenance within your personal capabilities.
3.1 C) Assistant Sensatori Technician. To assist the Production Manager and Technician in their duties – setting-up and striking shows, as well as sound and lighting operation as required. You will also undertake equipment maintenance within your personal capabilities.

3.5 SUPPORT: At the beginning of the season (mid April) you’ll fly to resort with two TED AV Maintenance Engineers. They help to set-up all of the entertainment equipment and conduct complete mains-Earth, RCD and MCB safety tests. During this very busy period, you’ll be rehearsing with your entertainment team and spending as much time as possible working with the TED AV Engineers. Thereafter, a TED AV Maintenance Engineer will fly to your resort at regular intervals and spend 24 hours with you to clean, check and repair the kit. You’ll be expected to forewarn them of any problems and to assist during their visit.
3.6 WORKING WEEK: Six evenings, plus some day-work.
3.7 WAGES: (under review)
£230 to £380 per week
Paid PAYE only into your UK bank account every month. Income tax and NI are deducted at source. If you complete an entire season, you’ll enjoy a Contract-Completion Bonus of from £300 (Assistant) to £600 (Technician & Technical Manager). Statutory Holiday Pay is paid to you when you leave.

3.9 CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
3.9A) Sensatori Technical Manager Highly skilled Live PA Sound and Lighting operation/programming, plus excellent man-management and forward-planning capability are the skills we seek We’re looking for candidates who have been professionally trained at recognised drama schools etc in a relevant technical course to produce HND or degree-level qualifications in technical theatre/live sound etc.
3.9B) Sensatori Technician Skilled Live PA Sound operation are the skills we seek and we’re looking for candidates who have been professionally trained at recognised drama schools and/or schools of audio engineering with relevant HND or degree-level qualifications in technical theatre/live sound etc. You must also have practical stage-lighting skills – the more adept you are, the better we’ll like it.
3.9C) Assistant Sensatori Technician. We need people who are skilled at mixing live sound and can also control stage lighting. You’ll be hard-working and willing to learn and improve your skills.
